When can I take an online course?
You can take our online courses wherever and whenever you like 24/7—the only requirement is that you have a working internet connection.
Are the Verkkokoulu courses Finnish products?
We have also been awarded the Key Flag Symbol for Finnish services.
Placing an order for an online course
Can I place an order on behalf of another person or for my company?
Yes. You can order the course for another person (fill out the participant’s information at the start of placing an order) and fill out your own or your company’s details as the purchaser. When placing an order, select “online invoice for a company” as the payment method and fill out the requested billing information.
Why have I not received a user ID for a course?
After an order has been successfully placed, our system will send the participant an email with the title ”You have just signed up for the course ….”.
However, the email may end up in your spam folder or not get delivered due to your email privacy settings. If you have not received the email, please contact our customer services.
Why can I not redeem the course using a business voucher or why does my voucher not work?
You can only redeem some of our course(s) with a business voucher.
Please check that you have tried redeeming the correct course. You can check the name of the course in the instructions that walk you through the process of redeeming a course with a voucher.
The voucher may also have expired or the credit limit set for it may have been exceeded.
If you are unable to redeem the course in accordance with the instructions, please contact our customer services.
Signing up for an online course
The course participant will receive registration information by email. These instructions include a user ID and a link that will take you to a page where you can set up a password for registration. After setting up a password, you can log in the course system via the “Verkkokoulu.com learning environment” link. You can also use the TAKE COURSE NOW shortcut link. If this button does not work and the system asks you for your user ID and password, set up a password as instructed above and log in the course system using your ID and password.
Completing an online course
How do I complete an online course?
Our courses include both video and image materials with an audio recording of the text, and tests and exercises with multiple choice questions. You make progress in the course by studying its content one section at the time. You can pass the tests by getting a sufficiently high score. If you fail to pass the test on your first try, you can take it again as soon as you want, for as many times as necessary. You can also revise the course material as needed and use it to find answers to the test questions.
Can I take breaks from the course? Do I have to start from the scratch if I log out of the website?
You can take a break from the course any time you like. Move your cursor over the video to display features that enable you to pause it and continue where you left it. The progress you make in the course is saved as you work your way through the course materials. This enables you to always continue from where you left off even if you logged out of the course environment.
How much time do I have to complete the course? Can I get an extension for taking the course?
The course is open for a period of 3 months since you first logged in. However, we recommend that you complete the course as soon as you can after starting it so that you will not forget about taking the course. You have to complete the course in order to pass it and ensure its validity. If the online course has expired, please contact our customer service.
What should I do if I have forgotten my password?
You can request a new password to be sent to the email address determined for your user ID by clicking the “Forgot your password?” link on the Login page.
System requirements for online courses
What are the system requirements for taking a course?
You take the course online on a computer, tablet or smartphone. If you use a mobile device, we recommend that you download the Go.Learn application, which ensures that all features of our website are made visible and can be accessed. You need a device that displays images and plays audio files, and an internet speed high enough so you can play video materials. Once you have gotten started, you can also access the materials offline in the mobile application.
Why does an education video not start playing or is too slow?
If you are accessing our materials on a personal computer, we recommend that you use the Chrome internet browser or the latest versions of other browsers. If the video will not start playing, clear your browser’s cache memory or switch to another browser. The speed of your internet connection also affects how well the videos work.
Licence and certificate
Will a passed course be immediately valid? Can I get some sort of a temporary certificate on passing the course?
Once you have passed a course, it is immediately valid. You will be displayed a Download your certificate button that will direct you to a page where you can print out a PDF certificate of the passed course (not available for all courses). We will deliver the licence to you by post within around two weeks.
Where can I check the licence information?
Check the information about the period of validity of the licence online at the Verkkokoulurekisteri.com website or by contacting our customer services.
Will I get a mobile licence after passing a course?
Yes. Visit the Verkkokoulurekisteri.com website to save a personalized direct link on your phone for checking your personal licence information.
The mobile licence displays the front and back of your licence and provides information about the course content.
Why have I not received my licence?
You give your address details at the beginning of the course and confirm that the licence will be mailed to you at the end of the course. After this, you will receive a verification email containing information about the licence details and delivery.
If the information related to the delivery and your address was correct and you have still not received the licence, please contact our customer services.
Which information do I have to give related to the delivery of the licence?
For the purpose of mailing you the licence and archiving the licence information, we need the following information from the course participant: first and last name, date of birth, telephone number, email address, postal address, and email address of manager/training coordinator. When you fill out the licence information, you can replace the Finnish personal ID number by adding e.g. four zeros.
Where can I place an order for a new licence if my licence has gone missing?
If your licence has gone missing or your name details have changed, you can order a new licence by contacting our customer services.
How long is the licence valid?
The licence is valid for 5 years.
